Anybody out there have a definitive opinion about which brand makes the best MiniDV camcorder?
(Best quality, features–I’m looking for the cams with the most features for under $350)

I would recommend either Sony or Canon. I wouldn’t be to concerned about which camera has the most features because usually a lot of the features are rather pointless and just drive up the price. I would figure out what exactly you are going to be using your camcorder for and then find one that fits your needs.

From my research, it seems that the camcorders from Canon, Sony & Panasonic to be more reliable than those from Samsung, Hitachi, Sharp & JVC. I’ve owned both Canon & Sony camcorders and they’ve not given me any problems.

Both Canon and Sony make good camcorders. There’s not much point in counting features – you need to decide what you’ll actualy use and then make sure they’re included.
